১৯৮৫ সালে কলকাতায় জন্ম। তিনি একজন ঔপন্যাসিক ও ছোটগল্পকার। ২০০২ সালে তাঁর লেখালিখির শুরু। কৈশোরকালেই তাঁর প্রথম প্রকাশিত বই বের হয়—একটি কবিতার সংকলন। এ পর্যন্ত তাঁর উপন্যাসের সংখ্যা আটটি। তাঁর উল্লেখযোগ্য উপন্যাসগুলির মধ্যে রয়েছে বঙ্কিমচন্দ্র, ভারতীয় নোটবুক, সেক্স অ্যান্ড ফিলোসফি, দুপুরে, সন্ধ্যার মেঘ, ব্রেনফিভার প্রভৃতি।
তিনি সত্তরেরও বেশি ছোটগল্প লিখেছেন। তাঁর ছোটগল্পের দুটি সংকলন—ডি মেজর এবং ৩০টি গল্প—বই আকারে প্রকাশিত হয়েছে।
তিনি মোহসেন মখমলবাফ-এর নাটক, হেনরি মিলার-এর উপন্যাস এবং সমকালীন এশীয় কবিতার অনুবাদ করেছেন।
মোট প্রকাশিত বইয়ের সংখ্যা পনেরো। লেখালিখির পাশাপাশি তাঁর চর্চা ও আগ্রহের আরেকটি ক্ষেত্র হলো ঔপনিবেশিক-পূর্ব বাংলা গদ্য।
Author Bio: Arjun Bandyopadhyay
Born in 1985 in Kolkata. A novelist and short-story writer. He began writing in 2002. His first published book appeared during his teenage years—a collection of poetry. To date, the total number of his novels, stands at eight. His notable novels include Bankimchandra, Bharotiyo Notebook, Sex and Philosophy, Dupure, Sandhyar Megh, Brainfever, among others.
He has written more than seventy short stories. Two collections of short stories, D Major and 30 Stories, have been published in book form.
He has translated plays by Mohsen Makhmalbaf, novels by Henry Miller, and contemporary Asian poetry.
The total number of his books is fifteen. Apart from writing, his other area of practice and interest is pre-colonial Bangla prose.
